Tajinder Bagga, the leader of the BJP, was arrested on Monday morning, according to Punjab Police. He was taken into custody at his home in Delhi. His participation in the investigation had been requested by the Punjab Police earlier.
A Punjab Police announcement said Bagga had been arrested on an incitement/incitation/criminal intimidation complaint for publishing provocative, false, and communally inflammatory statements in an interview with the media and Twitter.”
According to his father, Pratap Singh Bagga, the arrested BJP chief Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga was dragged away from his Delhi residence by officers of the Punjab Police without explanation. Tajinder asked to put material over his head to keep him warm. They were able to catch hold of Tajinder at 8:30 am and dragged him outside. No reason in any way had been given regarding why he was taken into custody, and no reason whatsoever was given,” he said.
